Pelican PL-100 Onyx 33 in. Single Bowl Granite Composite Kitchen Sink

The Pelican PL-100 Crystallite Series single bowl kitchen sink in Onyx brings the look and feel of stone to your countertop in a durable granite composite built for daily cooking and cleanup. Measuring 33 in. x 20-7/8 in. x 9-7/16 in. (33″ x 20.87″ x 9.45″), this black dual-mount sink can be installed undermount or as a drop-in, so it works with new quartz or granite countertops or as a replacement in an existing laminate top.

Granite composite built for everyday kitchens

Pelican makes its Crystallite Series sinks in Germany from pure quartz sand bound with a high-grade acrylic resin. The finished material is about 85% natural quartz, the hardest component of granite, which gives granite composite its dense, stone-like surface. Pelican states that these sinks are UV stable and resistant to scratches, stains and impacts, and that each sink includes a natural silver-ion hygiene protection system designed to inhibit bacteria and fungi.

Onyx is a deep, solid black that anchors light cabinetry, pairs naturally with matte black or stainless faucets, and helps disguise everyday water spots.

Single-bowl layout

One large, uninterrupted basin is the main reason shoppers choose a single-bowl sink. At more than 30 inches of interior length, the PL-100 has room to soak a stockpot or roasting pan, lay a half-sheet pan flat and wash oversized cutting boards without working around a center divider. If you usually hand-wash big cookware and rely on the dishwasher for the rest, a single bowl makes daily cleanup faster.

How It Compares to Typical Big-Box Composite Sinks

Most 33 in. granite composite sinks at big-box home centers are made with about 80% quartz and have 9-inch-deep bowls. The PL-100 is made in Germany with 85% natural quartz, and at 9.45 in. its bowl is a bit deeper than typical 9-inch big-box composites. It also measures 20-7/8 in. front to back instead of the common 22 in., which leaves more counter room in front of and behind the sink for the faucet and for everyday use, and helps on shallower counters. The trade-off is a slightly shorter bowl from front to back (16.29 in.).

Where it works best

• Busy family kitchens where large pots and pans are washed by hand
• Kitchen remodels moving from an older double-bowl sink to a modern single-bowl look
• Counters that are shallower than standard, thanks to the 20-7/8 in. front-to-back size
• Laundry and utility areas that need a deep, durable basin (Pelican also lists this model for laundry use)

Installation and care

Follow Pelican’s Crystallite installation instructions and use the template or specification sheet for the countertop cut-out. Plan your faucet location with your installer before any drilling, because incorrectly drilled holes are not covered by the warranty.

For routine care, wash the sink with warm water, a little dish soap and a soft sponge, then rinse and wipe dry. Pelican recommends a mild descaler for limescale and warns against highly abrasive scouring products, drain cleaners and harsh solvents, which can permanently damage the surface. Pelican publishes a separate care guide with deep-cleaning steps for its Crystallite sinks.

Complete the look

The sink is sold on its own. Add a matching Onyx Pelican kitchen strainer (SKU 1180500) and a matching Onyx disposal flange (SKU 1180497), each sold separately, so the drain blends into the bowl instead of showing bright stainless. Frequently asked questions

What are the dimensions of the Pelican PL-100?

Pelican lists exterior measurements of 33 in. x 20-7/8 in. x 9-7/16 in. (33″ x 20.87″ x 9.45″) and interior 30.24 in. x 16.29 in., 9.45 in. deep. Always cut the countertop from Pelican’s template or specification sheet, not from nominal dimensions, and confirm the fit with your cabinet and countertop installer.

Can the PL-100 be installed undermount or drop-in?

Yes. Pelican specifies dual-mount installation, so the sink can be mounted under a solid-surface countertop or set on top of the counter as a drop-in. Install it according to Pelican’s installation instructions.

How is this different from a big-box composite sink?

The PL-100 is made in Germany with 85% natural quartz, compared with about 80% in typical big-box composite sinks, and its 9.45 in. deep bowl is a little deeper than their usual 9 inches. It is also shallower front to back (20-7/8 in. vs. the common 22 in.). Warranty coverage is comparable: Pelican offers a limited lifetime warranty, as many big-box composite sinks do.

Does it come with a strainer or grid?

No. Pelican sells the sink by itself. Color-matched strainers and disposal flanges are sold separately; Builders Surplus carries the Onyx matching strainer (SKU 1180500) and disposal flange (SKU 1180497).

What warranty does Pelican provide?

Pelican covers Crystallite Series granite composite sinks with a limited lifetime warranty for the original homeowner against manufacturing defects in household use. It does not cover labor, thermal cracking, improper installation, misuse or incorrectly drilled holes. Keep the “A” number sticker from the sink, because Pelican uses it for warranty registration and claims; see Pelican’s warranty document for full terms.
