Flooring for rental homes is very important. Replacing flooring can be expensive, so you want something durable that will stand up to years of wear and tear. Like mentioned above, tile is a great choice and wood look tile is very popular and aesthetically pleasing. While solid hardwood may be very sought after by buyers, it’s a little less important for renters. If you’re flipping a home, you may want to consider solid wood if the area and price point supports it, but otherwise, we’re a huge fan of LVT.

LVT is 100% waterproof and extremely scratch and dent resistant. For this reason, it doesn’t need to be replaced very often. Laminate is another good option, but water damage can occur and scratches happen much more commonly with this material. Other than tile, LVT is our top choice for main living spaces. Carpet, while more difficult to keep clean, can be very attractive to buyers or renters when it’s in bedrooms. Just make sure you get something that is affordable to replace if damage occurs.
