1. Easy Thanksgiving Grilled Turkey Breast

  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 boneless, skinless turkey breast halves (1 3/4 pounds each)
  • Salt


  1. In a bowl, combine basil, oregano, parsley, garlic powder, white pepper, paprika, and onion powder. Rub mixture and olive oil over turkey breasts. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour.

  2. Heat grill to high. Season turkey with salt. Grill until seared on first side, 5 to 8 minutes. Turn turkey; move to cooler part of grill. Cover grill; cook until turkey reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees. 10 to 20 minutes. Remove from grill; let rest 10 minutes before carving.

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Moisten all the bread with as much water as is needed to make moist. Add the onion, seasoning, and salt and pepper. Mix with your hands.
  3. Place in turkey (if cooking in the oven) or in foil and wrap up and cook for at least 1 hour, longer if you are cooking it in the turkey. May open the foil for last 15 minutes to make top crusty.

3. Roasted Balsamic Vegetable Medley Side Dish

This is a dish that I make a variation of on a regular basis, and its so delicious! My summer recipe is asparagus, carrots, peppers and onion. One could work, but the veggies below are always crowdpleasers at turkey time.

  • 1/3 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 Cup Balsamic Dressing
  • 3 medium carrots (about 3/4 pound), cut into 1 1/2-inch thick circles
  • 1 1/2 cups Brussels sprouts (about 1/2 pound), halved
  • 4 cups red bliss potatoes (about 1 pound), cut into thick slices
  • 3 medium parsnips (about1 pound), cut into thick slices
  • 1 cup sweet potatoes (about 1 pound), cut into thick slices
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper


  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Put an aluminum foil sheet over an 11 x 17 baking pan. Grease foil. Place vegetables on sheet evenly spaced.
  4. Bake for 35-40 minutes.

4. Crazy Simple Cranberry Sauce with Pears

Cranberry sauce is a Thanksgiving classic, and you don’t even have to go canned to make it quick and painless! The is one of our favorite easy Thanksgiving recipes ever, because it’s healthy, tastes great, and takes only minutes to prepare!

  • 1 pound of cranberries
  • 1 pear
  • 2 tsp. grated orange zest
  • ⅔ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider or juice


  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cranberries, pear, orange zest, and sugar; stir in the apple cider.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens, 15 to 20 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

5. Skillet Apple Charlotte

Who doesn’t like baked apples around Thanksgiving? I know I do! Here is one of our favorite easy thanksgiving recipes for dessert!

  • 3 Granny Smith apples (about 1 1/2 pounds)—peeled, cored and cut into sixths
  • 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 slices of white sandwich bread, crusts removed
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 3 tablespoons apricot preserves
  • Sour cream for serving


  1. Preheat the oven to 400°. In a 7- or 8-inch ovenproof nonstick skillet, arrange the apples snugly, cored side up. Add the maple syrup, honey and 2 tablespoons of the butter and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce the heat to low, cover and cook, gently shaking the pan occasionally, until the apples are tender, 5 minutes. Uncover and cook over high heat, shaking the pan a few times, until the liquid is evaporated and the apples are caramelized, 7 minutes.
  2. Arrange the bread slices in a square on a work surface. Trim the corners of the slices to form a round the size of the skillet. Spread the bread with the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and sprinkle with the sugar. Arrange the bread over the apples, sugared side up. Bake for 20 minutes, until the bread is toasted. Invert the charlotte onto a plate.
  3. In a heatproof bowl, melt the apricot preserves in a microwave oven for 30 seconds. Spread the preserves over the apples. Cut into wedges and serve warm with a dollop of sour cream.
